What are antweight robots made from?

Antweight robots are made from all sorts of materials, from cardboard to titanium.

One of the most popular materials that we use is polycarbonate (also known as Macrolon). You can buy a 30cm by 30cm sheet of 1mm thick polycarbonate for a few pounds, which should be enough to build one or two antweight robots. Polycarbonate is very tough, won't shatter (like some other plastics) and when it's 1mm thick you can cut it with scissors and bend it by hand.

Other materials that we use are carbon fibre, kevlar, aluminium and steel. Milk carton lids have also been known to provide more than one antweight with its wheels!
